HARLEM GLOBETROTTERS TO PLAY ENCORE SHOW IN CLEVELAND
Popular Demand Triggers Second Performance in April
Fresh off an amazing record-breaking show at Cleveland's Quicken Loans Arena, the legendary Harlem Globetrotters have announced they are bringing their 2009 "Spinning the Globe" World Tour back to Cleveland by popular demand on Thursday, April 16, with their completely unique brand of exciting family fun, sure to create enduring memories that will be cherished for a lifetime.
The team's performance on Dec. 27 set an all-time record for a Globetrotters game at Quicken Loans Arena, with ticket sales up 27% from last year.
Sponsored by Campbell Soup Company, Spalding, and America's Best Contacts and Eyeglasses, the Harlem Globetrotters will take the court on Thursday, April 16, at 7:00 p.m. Tickets start at $19.00, but kids 12 and under can get a special $12.00 ticket (subject to availability and location). All tickets are available at the Quicken Loans Arena box office.
Individual ticket information – as well as info on group and scout tickets – can also be found on the Harlem Globetrotters' official Web site: www.harlemglobetrotters.com.
Fans will be captivated by the Globetrotters' basketball wizardry, hilarious antics and fan interaction, all presented by some of the world's greatest athletes and entertainers, such as the reigning Clown Prince of Basketball, Special K Daley; dribbling sensation Scooter Christensen; the gravity-defying Hi-Lite Bruton; fan favorite Ant Atkinson; ball handling extraordinaire Blenda Rodriguez; and El Gato Melendez, the first Puerto Rican-born player to ever suit up for the Globetrotters.
"The Harlem Globetrotters' brand resonates with fans across the globe as much now as any time in our storied 83-year history," stated Michael Kenney, the Globetrotters' senior vice president, live event marketing. "We are thrilled to be returning to Quicken Loans Arena in April to bring our fans an affordable and wonderful family outing."
Now in their 83rd consecutive season of touring the world, the Harlem Globetrotters have played in 120 countries on six continents, entertaining more than 128 million fans and crossing barriers between cultures, societies and people from all walks of life. The Globetrotters are one of only six teams to be inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
