Trans-Siberian Orchestra Announces Winter Tour 2008
TSO Celebrates their 10th Anniversary at The Q
One of the biggest arena attractions in rock music, the Trans-Siberian Orchestra (TSO), will once again take to the road this holiday season for what will be another monumental tour, more than 90 cities coast-to-coast in a nine-week period beginning on November 1st. The 2008 dates in Cleveland will mark the bands 10th Anniversary. In 1998, the TSO juggernaut began with selling out three debut performances at Cleveland Music Hall and Playhouse Square. Since then, the world has embraced the TSO Spirit unlike no other touring attraction. 98.5 WNCX in association with cleveland.com Concert Series, The Plain Dealer and FOX 8 are proud to present the 10th Anniversary concerts of Trans-Siberian Orchestra at Quicken Loans Arena on Monday and Tuesday, December 29th and 30th at 3:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.
The band's four CD releases, including the holiday-themed Christmas Eve & Other Stories (1996), The Christmas Attic (1998) and The Lost Christmas Eve (2004) have sold more than five million units. TSO's 2001 DVD release, The Ghost of Christmas Eve, has also achieved platinum status.
TSO's 2007 Winter Tour was its most successful to date playing to over 1.2 million fans in 90+ cities, and generating revenues of nearly $45 million, which according to Billboard magazine's midyear touring chart put them as the #2 most attended tour. Since its first Winter Tour in 1996, TSO has been one of the concert businesses' most successful acts, consistently rating in the Top 10 for both gross revenues and audience attendance.
Reserved tickets for the Quicken Loans Arena performances are $37 and $47. A portion of the proceeds from these local performances will benefit The Plain Dealer Charities, St. Augustine Hunger Center and The Salvation Army courtesy of 98.5 WNCX, Trans-Siberian Orchestra and Live Nation.
By special arrangement with TSO, tickets for all of the performances at The Q will go on sale via a special internet presale exclusively sponsored by 98.5 WNCX. Fans of the TSO and listeners of the station can log on to wncx.com beginning Thursday, September 4th at 10:00 a.m. through Sunday, September 7th at 10:00 p.m. to purchase tickets in advance of the public on sale.
