WMJI 105.7 FM will host the 2008 Moondog Coronation Ball, presented by Ameriprise Financial and your Northern Ohio Chrysler Jeep Dealers Saturday, March 29, at 7 p.m. at Quicken Loans Arena.
Moondog 2008 features special guest Ronnie Spector & The Ronettes as well as B.J. Thomas, Felix Cavaliere's Rascals, Peter & Gordon, The Fifth Dimension, and Lou Christie.
B.J. Thomas: B.J. recorded his first hit in 1967, "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry." Other popular favorites include "Hooked on a Feeling," "Raindrops Keep Falling on my Head" and "(Hey Won't You Play) Another Somebody Done Somebody Wrong Song."
Felix Cavaliere's Rascals: From 1965 through 1969, the Rascals were one of the best selling groups on the pop charts featuring Felix-sung hits such as "Good Lovin'," "Groovin'," "A Beautiful Morning," "A Girl Like You" and "People Got to Be Free."
Peter & Gordon: The duo made famous by such hits as "A World Without Love," "I Go To Pieces," "Lady Godiva" and "Woman."
The Fifth Dimension: The supergroup whose repertoire includes pop, R&B and soul classics such as "Aquarius/Let the Sunshine In," "Up, Up and Away," "Wedding Bell Blues," and "(Last Night), I Didn't Get to Sleep at All."
Ronnie Spector: Beginning in 1963, Ronnie Spector-as lead singer of the ultimate girl group, The Ronettes – recorded a long string of classic pop hits including "Walking in the Rain," "Do I Love You," "Baby I Love You," "The Best Part of Breaking Up" and the international Number One smash "Be My Baby."
Lou Christie: Lou's first million-selling song, "The Gypsy Cried," transformed Pennsylvania choirboy Lugee Alfredo Giovanni Sacco into Lou Christie, national teen idol, while still a teenager himself. Other successes included "Lightning Strikes," "Rhapsody in the Rain" and "I'm Gonna Make You Mine."
