The seventh annual Scott CARES Ice Show and Gala will be Saturday, November 4th at 5:00 p.m. at Quicken Loans Arena. All proceeds from this event will be
used to support research and patient programs at The Cleveland Clinic Taussig Cancer Center as well as further the mission of the Scott Hamilton CARES
Initiative (Cancer Alliance for Research, Education and Survivorship).
2006 World Champion Kimmie Meissner highlights additional Olympic and World Champion figure skaters and will skate to the live performance of special guest
Three Dog Night.
The CARES Initiative, a relationship between figure skater Scott Hamilton and The Cleveland Clinic, is an ongoing mission advocating cancer research and
education while developing effective strategies to improve quality of life for individuals with cancer. Hamilton, an Olympic gold medalist, launched the
CARES Initiative after being successfully treated for testicular and brain cancer at The Cleveland Clinic.
"Scott Hamilton has been committed to the patients and research at The Cleveland Clinic Taussig Cancer Center for years," said Derek Raghavan, M.D., Ph.D,
chairman and director of the Taussig Cancer Center. "We are excited to be a part of this Gala. The funds raised will be used to research innovative ways to
detect, prevent and treat cancer and to provide education services to cancer patients."
