Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse to Host 2015 Mid-American Conference Tournament

The heart-pounding, fast-breaking action of college basketball is back when the 2015 Mid-American Conference Tournament returns to Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse March 11th-14th! Celebrating 16 years of MAC basketball action in Cleveland, eight of the 12 schools that make up the Mid-American Conference will send men's and women's teams to Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse to battle for the MAC Championship and an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

Men’s & Women’s opening round tournament games will begin on campus sites Monday, March 9th for seeds No. 5- No. 12.

Then the MACtion makes its way to Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse! This four-day tournament will showcase the best of the best in men’s and women’s college basketball with second round matchups on Wednesday, March 11th, third round games on Thursday, March 12th and semifinals on Friday, March 13th.  Three days will feature two afternoon women's games and two evening men's contests. The men's and women's championship games will be played on Saturday, March 14th.

Tickets start at $10 for the women’s tournament and $18 for the men’s tournament (plus applicable fees) and are on sale NOW online, charge by phone at (888) 894-9424, the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse Box Office & all Northern Ohio Discount Drug Mart locations. Fans are encouraged to get their tickets in advance, as ticket prices increase $3 when purchased on game day.

In the 2014 men’s championship game, No. 1 seeded Western Michigan earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament by surpassing  No. 2 Toledo, 98-77. In the 2014 women’s championship game, the No. 3 seeded Akron defeated the No. 5 seed Ball State to win the title, 79-68, and clinched a spot in the NCAA Women’s Tournament.

MID-AMERICAN CONFERENCE AND QUICKEN LOANS ARENA ANNOUNCE EIGHT-YEAR CONTRACT EXTENSION

The tradition of MAC Madness in downtown Cleveland will remain on Northeast Ohio’s sports calendar for years to come! The Mid-American Conference (MAC) and Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse have agreed to an eight-year contract extension to host the MAC Men's and Women's Basketball Conference Tournament at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse through 2023. The current agreement runs through 2017.

Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse has served as the host venue for the MAC Men’s Basketball Tournament since 2000 and the MAC Women’s Basketball Tournament since 2001, and is the second longest running neutral site men’s tournament in the nation. In addition, the MAC is the only FBS conference to host its men’s and women’s tournament at the same time in the same location.
