E 21st Street Ramp Closed Wednesday

Attention Innerbelt Motorists: Lots of work is taking place as we prepare to open the new bridge! We recently told you about a series of traffic changes needed to open the new bridge. One of those ramp changes – the closure of the E 21st Street ramp to I-77 south – will now take place overnight November 6.

The following work will take place beginning Friday night:

Regional Interstate Impacts:

• CANCELED! Overnight Friday, November 1, I-77 south will close between I-90 and I-490 from 8 p.m. until 7 a.m. the morning of Saturday, November 2. Motorists may detour via I-71 south to SR 176 (Jennings Freeway) to I-480 to I-77 south.

Downtown Impacts:

• On Saturday, November 2, Carnegie Avenue will be closed between Ontario and E 9th Streets from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
• Overnight Wednesday, November 6, the E 21st Street ramp to I-77 south will close until completion of the second bridge in late 2016.
