Cleveland Praisefest, a non-denominational praise and worship service, returns to Quicken Loans Arena on Sunday, March 7th at 5:00 p.m. Thousands of believers unite to change our city and region during what is poised to be the largest event of its kind in Northeast Ohio. The presiding official for the 2010 service is Bishop Walter Scott Thomas who leads an international congregation with affiliates charges from across America.
Praisefest was formed to unite the city’s faith-based community to cooperatively sound the clarion call to both address social ills, and inspire faithful service in daily life. The 2010 event continues as a free, non-denominational, multicultural praise, prayer and worship service. This year’s event, will feature a spiritual revival from some of the city’s leading pastors, inspirational musical performances by six of Cleveland’s best gospel choirs, Radio One Cleveland, the unified performances of powerful praise dancers, national recording artists Funny Sounds, Contemporary Gospel Artist Tony DiBenedeppo.
Inspirational Leader Ted Ginn, Sr. from Cleveland’s Ginn Academy will participate along with the leaders of the Baptist Ministers Conference, the Baptist Pastors Conference, United Pastors in Mission and more than 200 individual congregations, ministries, and faith leaders. Prominent Civic Leaders are expected to be in attendance at the service including the dynamic Nina Turner, Kevin Boyce, and Ted Strickland.
Families and faithful from across the region join in prayer and praise for an end to the plague of violence, economic devastation, social and political strife, and for healing of our families and communities. Educators from across the region have also been requested to join in prayer for our schools and our children. A ceremony within the service seeks to heal the families and victims of violence is also scheduled.
